Born and raised in Perth, Eliza discovered her passion for engineering with guidance from Year 12 STEM teachers, leading her to pursue a Bachelor of Engineering and Business followed by a Masters. Throughout her journey, Eliza grappled with anxiety and eventually sought professional help during the COVID pandemic. Learning from this experience, Eliza became a dedicated Peer Supporter, firm of belief that nothing comes before taking care of one another.
Joining Shell, Eliza’s career showcased versatility. Starting as an Operations graduate, she fostered a safety-first approach and leveraged her analytical and detail-orientated skills to enhance operational efficiency. Transitioning to Process Surveillance, she reduced greenhouse gas emissions for off-take operations, earning global recognition and encouraging other businesses to adopt a continuous improvement mindset when approaching the challenges of transitioning to a Net Zero future. In her current role as a Design Process Engineer for the Crux project, Eliza displays adaptability and leadership, representing the project on crucial technical decisions.
Eliza’s dedication extends beyond her career; she actively contributes to Shell’s Gender Diversity network, organising events and leading initiatives for equal opportunities. Orchestrating Shell’s inaugural Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Day, Eliza emphasises awareness, inclusivity, and mentorship for young engineers.
