Since joining Clough as CEO in 2016, Peter Bennett has introduced a variety of initiatives aimed at fostering gender equality and retaining talented female employees.
Under Peter’s leadership, Clough has instituted a business-wide Gender Equality Program and the company itself has been recognised with a Workplace Gender Equity Agency Employer of Choice citation. The number of women in senior leadership positions at Clough has trebled and the company’s Executive Committee now includes two female leaders after previously having none.
Peter is an active member of CEO for Gender Equity and is actively working to close Clough’s gender pay gap, by prioritising young women getting hands-on experience on site early in their careers, promoting genuine workplace flexibility for both men and women, expanding parental leave to secondary caregivers and revamping intern and graduate programs with a focus on an equal gender intake.
Peter is passionate about encouraging young women to choose STEM careers and is on the record as saying that he’d like his own daughter to have the same opportunities that he enjoyed.
